40 Day Clothing Challenge

Wow! It has been waaaaayyyyy toooo long since I have posted ANYTHING!!!! Fail!!!

But Lent is coming up and every year I give up Coke. I am a cokaholic, drinking Coke is my worst vice but for the very soon future, I will be a water drinker. I always feel better during lent when I am  not consuming mass quantities of Coke but quickly resume my drinking habits a week after Easter. Mr. Spouse often equates a good day from a bad by the amount of Coke I drink. Good day= 2 Cokes. Bad day=7 Cokes. :(

Every year I ask my teammates to also give up or we try and do something new to make us better teachers. I ask this same request of my new teammates.

This year instead of giving up anything as a team, we challenged each other to dress better at work. So we are not going to repeat an outfit during lent.

So for the next 40 days, my teammates and I will be digging through our closets to try and mix it up.

Rules of this challenge:
1. An outfit consists of top, bottoms, accessories and shoes.
2. You cannot repeat the same order of clothes but can wear same jeans or shirt.
3. Don't buy new clothes, look through Pinterest for inspiration and reach down deep into your closets.

I am excited to take on this challenge. Starting Wednesday-first day of lent- I will post a picture of what I am wearing so I cheat.

Try this challenge with us. Could you go 40 days with out repeating?!?!

Back to School Shopping

Our school officially opens for teachers this Friday! I can't believe my summer is coming to an end and FAST! I love to shop, especially for school supplies. So I scoured the ads and drug my kiddos around to grab some of my classroom must haves. My daughter loves going to the stores with me. I think its because she can always con a little toy from me. Today she scored and "spy glass," as she calls it.

Office Max has all Sharpies for $.25!!!! I pretty much bought all the Sharpies in the Phoenix Metro Area. Sorry Phoenix Peeps! But I was also able to get a little gift for all my Team Mates. I'm working with a new team and a little nervous. So I decided to buy them a little sumthin-sumthin so that we start the year off on a Bright Note!

I filled the cups with markers for my teammates. But who can resist 25 cent Sharpies! Obviously not me.

I also bought colored burlap. I am going to use it to make a pennant banner for my grammar wall.

I first traced the letters with pencil and then with a black Sharpie, cuz I just got one for 25 cents. wink, wink. I then went over it again with black paint. I will post the finish product tomorrow. (I can't find my hot glue gun)

It looks like my counter vomited letters.

I am now on the hunt for the perfect back to school outfit. I will let you know as soon as I know! :0

On a side note, I was disappointed in the Housewives last night. I am over this fight and ready for them to all move on. But tonight is the RHONY Finale. So I will be up late tonight to see that. WHOO HOO!

Picture Passes

It is a rare occasion when my children take naps at the same time. It is always my intent but my daughter seems to have her own agenda. But when it happens, it is so GLORIOUS! Because this doesn't happen often, I am caught off guard and scramble to try and fit in all the things I can't do when the they are awake. Do I clean the floor? Do laundry? Watch RHOC?

HOUSEWIVES!

I have to admit, I love, love, love the housewives. I could kiss you Andy Cohen. Most of my television watching experiences involve the many housewives and spin off shows on BRAVO. But I definitely cannot watch these shows within ear shot of my daughter. Thank you, Nene Leakes. Any who, I put on RHOC. I am totally Team Heather :)

So while I was watching the housewives, I made my picture passes. That way I made the most of my hour and a half to myself!

I teach Kinder. Who knows what the kiddos do when they are on the way to the nurse?!?! So I created these passes with picture of the Principal,  the Nurse, etc. to help them find their way. I make a pass for pretty much every adult on campus. You never know when you need to send a child for emergency paint!

Sorry for the picture quality I had to use my phone. I also covered faces and names for protection.

But you can see it has a picture and their job title. I find these to be very helpful to my kinder kiddos :)
